Viruses constantly evolve, spread, and sometimes remain hidden within the environments we share.

My work explores those hidden pathways by combining genomics, surveillance in humans, animals, and wastewater with computational biology to improve outbreak preparedness and strengthen global health security.

Through studies spanning Africa and North America, I have sought to understand not only what surveillance systems reveal, but also what they may miss.

These experiences inspired the book The Blind Spot and the Genome-to-Action initiative, which aims to translate scientific discovery into practical public health action.

The goal is to make the invisible visible before outbreaks become crises.
